There are lots of things to do, great walking routes (some start on your doorstep!) and places to visit. Beautiful old towns include Autun (20 mins), Beaune (40 mins) for the vineyards and cellars open to visitors! Bourbon-Lancy, Nevers, Magny Cours, Nuits-St-Georges, Dijon etc are all easily accessible. Or if you fancy a day trip to Paris its only an hour and a half by train from Luzy.
This rocky, volcanic region of France is full of spa towns, casinos and holy ground. You can still take the Cure in nearby Vichy or follow the pilgrims route to Santiago de Compostela - the great abbey Vezelay, a UNESCO World heritage site is not far away. Follow the GR13 which passes by Chassigneux, the walkers route to Autun and the great black Mountain of Bibracte where you will find traces of the Romans, their allies and adversaries.
